I have been posting on here recently about a contact application that myself and DH were having to deal with from our sons paternal grandmother .
It has been an extremely difficult time for us and the support and advice we have had from these forums have been fantastic . We have had a very successful outcome with no contact given .

I just wanted to come on and say thank you everyone who took the time to reply and offer advice . We can finally carry on with our lives without the stress this had been causing .

Glad you've had a happy outcome for you. Is it likely that your DS's might have contact in the future when they are older?

Yes it was a huge relief
As for future contact it is to be left as it is , unless he ever wants to get in touch then that will be for him to decide .

I have been looking out for this post and I am so, so, so pleased for you all. The relief you must feel.
Could I be rude and ask a little about what the judge actually said his reasons for no contact were?

Hi , without going into to much detail in case it out me . There was no existing contact so it was about her trying to give her reasons as to why she should be able to start seeing him . We had extremely strong points to bring up regarding DH childhood and guided by the welfare checklist the judge felt that things should remain as they are .
I think it helped that we had given her the opportunity to try and establish a relationship . That was however stopped due to a number of incidents but it had shown that we had tried. Though we made it clear all along during the court case that we were unwilling to be give countless opportunities to reastablish a reationship at the cost of our sons welfare .

Thank you fifi - I am facing a similar situation but it is the father who has not seen my DS and he is already 7 almost 8. I tried to engage my ex when he was first born but to no avail (luckily via a solicitor so I have the letters) - he left me when I was pregnant. I know it is a very different situation but my ex is also on legal aid and I don't qualify. He was abusive to me (hence the solicitor when he was born) and he is trying to go against a cafcass report with legal aid but it looks like in your case they did manage to fudge that bit.
It has been so hard dragging up all the past hurt he caused me and hearing him try to rewrite history (if I say too much it will out me) I worry for my DS, as life has not gone well for my ex these last few years and my DS has such a happy life. I have offered some contact but it is not enough for my ex and is even more than cafcass want. My DS is afraid as he just turned up one day at our house.
At least you got the result you wanted - I am really just so pleased for you.
