Help - how do I return something if a company is ignoring me?!

I ordered something a week ago and it has only just arrived - in the meantime I had decided I did not want to keep it and would be returning it. I have emailed the company (their website states that if you want to return something you have to contact them and they will tell you the process) and tried ringing - they have a landline but it goes straight to voicemail (I used this last week to leave them a message and they never got back to me; I had also emailed them whilst waiting for the delivery and they never replied to that either)
If I want to return under DSR I only have 7 days - what do I do if I can't get hold of them to tell them I want to return it?!!

(also posted in chat for more traffic, but hoping someone here will know where I stad legally!)

Is this a chinese firm?

Speaks from bitter experience.

No, it's called Zest Beauty - based in Nottingham.

Did you pay with a credit card / Visa debit card? If you did, contact them to see if you can them to cancel the transaction as the company won't respond to you.

Not a legal, but the distance selling right to cancel within seven days must surely be seven days from receipt of the goods.

If you paid by PayPal they can help.

It is seven days from receipt, but if I haven't been able to get hold of them since I placed the order, then I'm not expecting to be able to get hold of them in the next 7 days either!
I did pay by credit card - good idea about contacting them. How long do you think I need to give them company before I do this, or is it ok to do it now do you think?
(order placed on 31.12, no reply to any phone call message or email since then, order arrived yesterday)
