Boiler company not refunding deposit

Our boiler packed in and we found a company to replace it. We signed a contract that allowed us to cancel within 14 days which we did after finding someone better and after they had made some worrying remarks about the inevitabiliy of ruining our floorboards! A week after I sent the cancellation notice I called them and they said it would take 7 days to refund. That didn't happen. I called gain and they said I should have been told 14 days. 15 days have now passed and they are messing us about still. One person said it had been paid on the 20th but another said it hadn't been done. I need this money for Xmas as I have already shelled out on the bloody boiler. Is there anything I can do to make them pay?

Samll claims court is the only thing you can do to force them to pay.

Thanks for replying. I'm guessing that will take ages and cost me too Angry. I might just go to their office and throw a toddler style tantrum on the floor until they get sick of me!

Just to clarify - did your right to cancel within 14 days include a return of the deposit?

If so, you need to threaten court action, give them a final deadline, then money claim online if they don't pay.

I've just done that, thanks!
