my sisiter's 2 children were awarded compensation after a car accident,
the money is held in court funds, my mum was the trustee until they are 18,
my mum died last year, one daughter got to 18 before my mum died so was given her money, the other one is 18 in a few months time, and now my sister has told me all she needs is a copy of the death certificate and the court will transfer the trusteeship to her, my sister can not be trusted to pass any monies onto her children, she has past form for this.
my question is this, is the transfer as simple as my sister makes out, she says my dad might have to sign something and she needs to send a copy of the death cert, or would it fall to me, as executor for mum to notify the courts and get it sorted,
any help is gratefully welcomed
