Contact Order: My Full Time Job or His

Going to court with the ex next week over his demands for contact.
We both work full time but have a conflicting shift that has meant we are unable to to agree on contact.
I have heard the court is more likely to go with the NRP's shift pattern rather than mine - has anyone had any experience of this??

Can't see why they would tbh.

Think there will need to be greater flexibility though if you both work full time.

I have always assumed that the status of RP comes with the responsibility to provide care 24/7 - if you are unable to and your DCs have to be cared for by their Dad at times, isn't that considered shared residency?

Al lot will depend on the age of your kid(s), and proximity to your ex. The courts like you to come to court with solutions, that are workable, paractical and have at their heart the childrens welfare. It may mean one or both of you may have to adjust your working patterns to fit in with the needs of the child. What are his demands and what are yours? How old are the children. Do you live far from each other? Are the kids in childcare, school - do you have agreement on holidays, special days, birthdays, mothers day etc. Have you tried mediation? What schedule is place currently - I am assuming he's sees them now accoring to your schedule and he's lookinmg to increase?

If you can't sort it out between you, the judge will set the pattern. It may be something like df gets every other w/e plus, say, Wednesday night and half the holidays. Then, if he'w working on "his" w/e, it is his responsibility to find childcare. If you are working on "your" w/e, you have to find childcare.

If it turns out that you can use each other for childcare, and you're both happy with that, great. Otherwise you both need to look for outside help.
