WWYD attend court or not

hi i will try keep this short. split with xp 18 months ago whilst 5 months pregnant and a 3 year ds in tow. it was hell and xp has seen us homelessk refuses maintanance even though he has 2 massive houses in probate claims benefits and works. thanks to my family i have managed to home myself and dcs. my xp has manipulated family courts for a year now. winning weekend court orders then stopping coming then telling courts i refused contact. not true. anyway here we are again. he hasnt been near for 8 weeks. i recieved a letter from cafcass 4 weeks ago saying another court app has gone on. i have not heard from anyone though not courtk my solicitor or cafcass. court date apparantly is 2 weeks time do i chase yhis up or just not attend due to not being informed officially by courts.

Anyone?

Phone the court to confirm there is a hearing, it's not in your interests for it to go ahead without you being present to put forward your side of the case.

thanks stidw your probably the voice of reason. i can just never understand why having to put your kids into childcare borrowing money to this making me in debt is "IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CHILD" as cafcass ect...are always quoting. childcare is for when i attend court for 6th time i just wish the courts would stop accepting his applications its so madening.

Not attending is a bad idea, the Court might make an order that you really don't like. Don't burry your head in the sand! If you have a solicitor, at the very least they ought to go along. Sometimes the Court will excuse your attendance if there's a good reason why you can't go, although your solicitor will need to be fully briefed and it's best if you're available on the phone.

In some circumstances the Court can prevent people from making further applications to the Court without obtaining permission first. Engage with your solicitor and ask their advice.

thanks zillion am going to attend court 1 last time and try and get my solicitor to help me more. maybe prevent future apps if possable. i just want to be left alone and get on with my life and enjoy my children. a bit hard to do when your always fighting court battles.
