Working out my will...

I'm 28, single with one daughter. We rent, I don't have a car etc I have no assets at the minute, other than a savings account which would go to my dd.

The only other thing I can think of that I would need to put in the will is what will happen to my daughter (currently 9)

Her dad lives in England and we have an informal contact arrangement. He pays maintenance pretty much always bang on time etc. I've spoken to my parents ( v involved in dds life) and they said they just assumed if something happened to me that they would take custody of my dd and contact with /maintenance from her dad would not change. I haven't found a way to discuss this with him though I'm 80% certain he won't object.

Is there anything I'm missing? Is custody automatically his? He's not on birth cert but has DNA test proving he is her dad etc do not sure what his rights are re responsibility. ( planning ahead for will aid month!)

Should have said we are in N. Ireland - 600 miles from her dad.
