More benefits if having contact

Would there be any way a parent would get more benefits - if they are currently on them - if they started to have contact with their child?

Think it depends what contact....possibly with shared custody. Overnight stays reduce maintenance payments. Just daytime contact, no but resident parent is expected to provide essentials.

Thanks for your replies but the question was not about maintenance payments (never had any anyway) it is about welfare benefits.... my ex will try anything to get extra cash and as someone who has never claimed I don't know much about the system he seems to know inside out - like it is his job... well he has the time while I am at work.
