Council Tax Help Urgently Needed.

I received my change of circumstances form for council tax today, after I contacted them to notify them that my husband moved out in June.

I am panicking about how to fill out the form, as the tenancy agreement is still in his name and we haven't informed the landlord yet.

Shall I ring them up and say his name is on the tenancy agreement and we haven't transferred any details yet, which is the truth? Can I then still get the 25% discount for beung a single person? Or would it be easier to just say I am a joint tenant?

Please help!

Inform the landlord, change the name on the lease, fill in the form properly.
Why don't you want to tell the LL?

So long as your husband can show that he is registered at another address, ie paying council tax at another address then you will be absolutely fine.

It would be reasonable for it to take time to make adjustments to the tenancy, so they aren't interested in that.

Thanks for the advice.

I do want to inform the landlord, but not just yet. I am only just out of the stage of taking it one day at a time and every little potential obstacle I face is stressful.
