PR and schools

Hi
My partner's daughter is due to start pre school in September and he is currently working out contact to request at next hearing. He wants to ask for an afternoon a week but it will depend on what sessions his daughter does.

He can't find out from his ex as they don't talk he goes thru her sister but she wouldn't tell him either,

Just wondered if there is somewhere that he can ring to find out? The school directly? He has PR for his daughter but wasn't sure if that allowed him to ask someone especially as he's in early stages of court for contact.

Thanks in advance :)

OP- I know for a fact that if he has PR then the school/Pre school are obliged to give him that information. Sounds like his dd's mother is trying to keep him out of the loop for some reason. He should hand over his email address as many Pre schools send email newsletters of events, special activities, plays etc. Also as the above poster said, ask for copies of reports etc.

Thank you for the replies.
I kind of knew that having PR meant he could get the info but as contact has been extremely on off due to his ex and he's currently going thru court for a contact order only just had 1st hearing currently preparing for the 2nd, I wasn't sure if it was appropriate to call them to ask.

What would he need to provide to them to be able to be told what sessions she is doing? Birth Certificate?
He was going to tackle all of the PR issues at the 3rd hearing once contact was properly established. In his ex's eyes he's just a sperm doner and has no rights obv we know that's rubbish but he wants to do things correctly through court.

Thanks again

If I were him, I would call the school, explain the situation and ask the question. If they require evidence of PR before giving out the information, they will say what documents are acceptable. Presumably the birth certificate would be fine.

The school should be fine with all this, as she can't be the only child they have whose parents are separated.
