DDs father and I are not married and are splitting up. I am moving back into a house that we both own whilst he stays in the house that we currently rent in just his name. We have been together six years.

He is on the birth certificate and she has his surname so has parental rights and responsibility. He wants 50/50 access and thats not workable as he doesnt drive and im a student parent with very little money so wont be doing all the running around(as im sure he fully expects). He has already informed me he wnt be giving me any maintenance.

I am also pregnant, he isnt interested in this baby, can I name him on the BC without him having any rights or is that morally wrong?

I am sure we could come to an agreement regarding when he has them but he is a nasty and manipulative man and I worry he will do something sneaky. He has a good job and this big house, I will be s student parent in a crap house with no money and I dnt want 2 lose my kids. Am I best 2 go 2 a solicitor? How much does this all cost??

Thank you

See a solicitor.

Ask about a schedule 1 children act application for capital provision. /you might be eligible for legal aid to cover the cost.

You can't put him on the BC without his consent, but CSA will take care of any maintenance issues.

If you can't agree his contact to the child(ren) he can ask the court to intervene, but most parents eventually manage to reach an agreement that serves the needs of the child.
