olympic short let

we are thinking of sub-letting our flat for the Olympic Games.

A couple of hitches though:

  • we live in a borough that has banned short-term lets
  • we are allowed to sub-let on our contract.

Now, this sounds like a "no" to sub letting our flat.. but I think our neighbour is doing it as well.

so, just asking...Does anyone know what would be the penalty if we sub-let our flat?

Sorry that was meant to read

  • we are NOT allowed to sub-let on our rental contract.

If you're not allowed to sublet then you can't unless you want to risk losing your home!!!

I would always go for a " no , means no".

Isn't it a bit late to be thinking about it? Wouldn't most people who wanted a short let already have them booked?

I know a few people who looked into it and decided it wasn't financially worth it. To much insurance, storage for possessions, What if the tenants didn't play fair?
