Customer Compliance interview at Local JCP

Hi there i'm not sure if i've posted this in the proper section sorry !!

I received a letter yesterday stating i must attend an interview next week with a customer compliance officer in order to discuss the benefit im currently being paid to ensure the payments are correct. It goes on to say "you should note that where there is doubt about whether the conditions for entitlement are met we can suspend your benefit" ?!

I am a single parent with a one year old child living on my own, and currently receiving income support... I have recently started dating someone new since a rough split with my childs father in Oct 2011.. but he does not live with me or anything :S

When googling this i found this is the FRAUD INVESTIGATION department...

can anyone shed any light on this situation??

It could be someone has reported your new relationship having got hold of the wrong end of the stick. It could also be just a routine thing that they do once every so often in the hope of catching someone out.

If you've nothing to hide then you've no need to worry :) they'll just want to see bank statements, utility bills etc to check that they are all in your name and no wages are being paid into your bank, that kind of thing.

Thanks i'll take a load of bills etc with me.. i just read on another forum that they forced some girl who had a new partner to ask him to move in with her to make a new claim as a couple or they would stop her benefits as a single parent :S

surely this is not the case i haven't been with him long at all and i've got my daughter to think about x

hi, when i split up with my kids dad i got called in for one of these. they told me they had to check these things as they were being monitered by a government agency.
or it could be because some one has reported you for having your boyfreind living there. there are people around who are tell lies for no reason.
i really don't think they can force you to have someone move in with you, maybe with that girl you heard of they knew he was already living there.
