Funding and hair strand tests

Hi all

Was wondering if someone maybe able to answer a question for me we don't have a solicitor to ask as my partner is representing himself.

At his first court case his ex partner claimed he is a drug user (he's not) and wouldnt allow any contact until he has had a hair stand drugs test. He agreed to be tested for anything as he doesn't touch drugs and she thinks she's being clever by prolonging no contact.
Anyway as she gets legal aid the judge ordered that her solicitors were to arrange the test via her funding and gave a date for which the results need to be back at court.

What I was wondering if anyone knows the procedure to get the funding for this and possible time scale, I do appreciate that it may depend on areas etc just was looking for a rough idea as the results are due to be filed at court in 3 weeks and were concerned there dragging their heels in arranging it or on the other hand we obv know nothing about it and this could be very normal....

Any idea would be great :-)
Thanks

you need to get on to her solicitors. it takes at least 10-14 working days for results to come back after the test is done.

what happens is they should fill in a request for quotation form, which is then sent to (we use Trimega or Tricho Tech) who then sends them a quote. they sign it and send it back. they should have asked you dh who his GPs are so he can go to the doctors and have it done. once the quotation form is signed and sent back to x they dispatch the kit, usually takes a couple of days. you then have to make appt with GP (most gps dont tell you when its there, you have to check) the GP will charge so the invoice should be sent to her solicitors also. GP sends kit back to X and then they take about 10-14 days to send a report out.

Thank you very much for your reply!!

I was under the impression they needed to get the legal funding agreed aswell but I don't have clue just what we try to find out online.

So as court was 4 weeks ago really they should have been quoted for the test for which ever company they use and ideally have the test kit ready to test him

This is the downside of doing it alone that's for sure!

Thank you again

usually if its in the court order they are covered for their funding as the court have ordered it, and not just the case they have wanted it.
