a 7 year old girl through a stone at my car window smashed it up. the parents said they are under no legal obligation to pay for it. is this correct

If the parents were watching the child throw stones at cars and not stopping her could they be made liable? I merely ask the question. I don't have an answer I'm afraid.
Maybe You could get your grandchild to ride their bike in a wobbly manner on the pavement near their parked car unt they pay up.Wink

Why would you automatically believe what the parents said the police said?

Call them yourself, bet they say the parents are liable.
