Letting someone use our address so they can go touring

Weve been asked if we will consider letting someone use our address so they can go touring, they will have no permanent fixed address. What do we need to consider please? It would include registering a vehicle at our address but no schooling involved.
Thanks.

How well do you know them?
Is this just so that they can have somewhere which will receive post?

I think my only concern would be that if they, say, did not pay bills or credit cards then they would be associated with my address, and therefore I may well end up blacklisted because of someone else's actions. ...and quite possibly someone I could not contact either if they use pay-as-you-go mobiles .
Is there no way they could use maybe their bank branch or a solicitors office in the way that companies have a 'registered office' which is not necessarily their trading address?

I know them well. They will need a physical address I think for the car stuff (insurance, registering it, that sort of thing) it's things like speeding fines that worries me as well as the credit thing. Also not sure if it would have an impact on council tax or other things that haven't occurred to me.

HangingGarden, address are not blacklisted, people are. Where you live has no impact on your credit rating unless there is a financial link involved in the address - eg, husband and wife.

Hanging addresses are not blacklisted. It's people that are blacklisted.

Can't they just set up a PO box number for their post?

Alittlebitprivateforthis · 15/04/2012 18:03

That's quite reassuring.
They could use a po box for some stuff but I think for car stuff and probably bank they need a physical address.
