Can he do this?!

A couple of months ago a man ran into my husbands car.He admitted fault at the scene,thankfully no-one was hurt.
The claim was settled really quickly and easily we thought.Our car, which was old, was written off as it would have cost too much to put right,his insurance company paid out and we got a new car...
Yesterday my husband got a phonecall to say the man had now decided the accident was not his fault after all and the insurance company are sending out accident forms for us to fill in.
WTF?! the claim was settled,what is he playing at? Can he even do this?!

There's been a thread like this before. If I remember correctly, it would be the insurance company who are disputing this, not the other driver. Someone will be along to give you some better advice in a little while. It may be best if you start another thread, giving a little more detail in the title.
