My OH computor has just crashed losing all our recent unsaved photos! Just got back off a once in a lifetime holiday and all the pictures we took of our newly renovated property. Why oh why did we not back them up?
The virus is called system check and the computor is not operational at all.
Just read up about system check and they can take all our passwords, credit card numbers etc and our identity!
We were placing our property on a lettings website when it crashed and am a little suspicious this virus came from their website?
There was a message saying pay £80 or your computor will crash.
Beware if you see System Check

pippaia,

just saw this....sorry to hear it. A computer expert might be able to retrieve your photos.

do you have an anti-virus programme? (a bit late to ask this but....)

Also, I think you should ask MN to move this to Geeky Stuff as someone there might be able to help you out.

Good luck.

We had a rootkit virus thing the other week. Could not get into the desktop at all It too over a week to clear. Had to seek online help via some tchy bloke who very meticulously advised dp how to get rid (and dp is pretty ok with computers). I'll find out the link for you
