Contact- 2nd directions hearing- representing myself

Hi, i have to go back to court for a second directions as cafcass have concerns about my ex, they are doing a full police check and review and also wanted him to do a blood liver function test.
Firstly i can no longer afford a solicitor so advice from anyone that has represented themself in court or can tell me more about a 2nd directions hearing would be great.
Secondly he hasnt done his Blood liver function test in the allotted time- what will they do?

had many driections hearing over 18 months before final contact orer...

what is current contact and what does he want?
is there supervised contact going on?
is it going well?
if there is nothing new and still concerns then probably you will just get more of same eg supervised contact and come back in three months

ie depending on his excuses he may be given more time.

or do you want contact to be changed from what it is now?
has he been turning up or not?

tho test was asked for it might only be minor to everything else?

depends on level of drinking etc and impact of this on dc duin conact times i guess ?

my exp was very uncooperative with cafcass etc whic probably influnced outcome to some degree - but jsudge will also be looking at broader picture of what has contact been, how is it going, how is it going for DC etc - is it ready for a final order? rather than specifics of liver test? unless it crucial to the whole thing?

Direction hearings are reviews to see what more information (statements/reports etc) is needed before the case can be finally heard. They also are there to review the progression of contact. If before a judge or a bench of magistrates an interim contact ourder could be made, but unlikely unless you've been given prior notice that the court would be considering this.

He doesn't have any contact at all and has not seen her since 4 weeks (his choice as he wouldnt have supervised contact). CAFCASS have asked for the test and further review as he has 8 violent criminal convictions in the space of 6 years and also when he did see her for the first 4 weeks he used to turn up really hungover, and it affected his moods. He said at the first court hearing he didnt want to do the BLF test and they told him it would be in his best interest as contact relies on the outcome. Thanks for your replies
