Health questionnaires

Under the new equality act, if I apply for a college course where work placement will constitute most of the course, should I have to fill in a health questionnaire prior to starting? Does it matter if I am first accepted onto the course and then fill it in perhaps two weeks later so it doesnt affect the sign up process?

Legally a health disclosure should not be taken into account when people are offered jobs. In reality it might, you would just never know about it. You could wait until the job offer is made and then disclose any health problems so that the employer cannot then legally withdraw the offer, and may be able to make adjustements to your environment.

I think it is the Equality Commission who deal with this (?) so worth getting in touch with them.

I am not sure if the above information would apply to your circumstance as outlined , but those are the general principles.
