Rental property

We have rented our property to a real estate agent.
12 month lease with six month break clause.

  1. at what stage do we give notice that we want to break the agreement? And how much notice do we need to give?
  2. we believe the real estate has signed up tenants on short let and needs to give two months notice to them. If we only have to give 30 days notice but he has to give 60, problems?? Thanks in advance!

What does it say in your contract with the estate agent?

What country are you in? Is it Let Only (they find a tenant, you pay a fee) or Let & Managed (they find a tenant and sort out anything that goes wrong while the tenants live at your property, you pay a fee)

If Britain, I doubt you'd have rented to an agent, more likely through an agent - they match people with spare properties to people who need a house, taking a percentage of the rent in payment.

You should have a copy of the Assured Shorthold Tenancy agreement, which your tenant will have signed, and also a contract with the Agency stating their terms and conditions.
