Mckenzie friend

Help have to go to court on Tuesday I am representing myself and have a Mckenzie friend helping me. My Ex wants joint custody. He has also served me with a C1A and I have also filed a C1A regarding his treatment to our child and served one with the court,. It asked any relevant orders to be attached so I put a copy of a non molestation order I had taken out on him and the full custody order given to me in Italy after a year there being "returned" for wrongfully removing our child from Italy. The Italian custody order cites the reason for me being granted full custody was because of the selfish and narcissistic behaviour of my ex and his unnatural relationship with his child.
Now I have had a long and bullying letter from his lawyer telling me I have to ask permission before I can file an order to the court. I don't understand as the C1A they sent me plus the bundle they sent to me both had a precious High court Hague convention order attached to it.
My Mckenzie friend has told me that now I look amatuerish (hell yes but I am!) That I should not have mentioned the past even my order in my favour as we did not want to stir up the Hague convention and this could turn against me and I could loose the case on this!!!!
Whats more he said now the other side could object to me having a Mckenzie friend just to get me on my own.
I only tried to do my best on the very limited information that is available to me. My first hearing is on Tuesday and needless to say I dont feel very confident...especially now!

How old is the Italian order and where did you find your McKenzie Friend?

redbaren · 04/12/2011 21:24

The italian order is from 2007 and I found my Mckenzie friend from "Family court support"

ok - if you need to ask permisison - well ask for permission. dont be intimidated...

you HAve to ask permission from who?
if you ask to ask permisison from the court/judge -well, then do that - there should be clerks or self rep unit help support at the court who can tell you how to do this.

if this means delaying the hearing so be it - but ask the court how you can ask for permission to include this order as it sounds highly relevant.

your mckenzie friend - unless is a lawer/barrister -well - just be cAreful regarding tHEIR advice.

so tomorow morning -call or go to the court unit which helps those self repping and ask them how to request the relevant permission to include this order

my exp self repped and bourght forward all kids of documentsat the last minute - which judge then had to decide to allow to be included or not. dont be intimidated - if you think important then ask for the judges permission to include it.

and sadly maybeyou need a more supportvie mckenzie friend...

Your 'Family Court Support' McKenzie Friend does not appear to understand that relevant history is important particularly Hague Convention proceedings.

Mind you some lawyers are the same.
