A poster on Lone Parents also suggested I post in Legal...
Ex left in January. He is now married to someone else. He has completely abandoned his dd (she's 4) in every sense of the word.
The thing is I'm in Ireland, he's in the UK. He has not paid any child maintenance since early in the year. I have gone through the UN Convention for Maintenance abroad which came to a standstill - don't know why, something to do with legal aid or something. I have now reapplied through the Council Regulation (EC) No 44/2001. I don't have much faith in any of these fluffy agreements (and anyone I have been chatting to in Ireland has had no success) but at least I can prove to my dd when she's older I tried every avenue. Just to add, I have his address, national insurance number, work address etc. It's just so frustrating. I'm really struggling financially now with all the cuts which have been implemented here.
My question is what would you do? Would you swallow your pride, boost his ego and contact him asking for child maintenance? or has anyone had any success stories with these "agreements". Obviously I'm out of the jurisdiction for the CSA.
