I am getting divorced and my Solicitor told me not to revert to my maiden name by deed poll as i have the legal right to use it anyway and it would be a waste of money - he said to just use my Birth Certificate as proof - is this correct and has anyone done it? A different solicitor said i needed a Deed poll so I am a little confused.

Thanks
