DFS tried to deliver our sofa today. We had ordered a Left hand chaise unit, spent extensive time with the salesperson going backwards and forwards between 2 sofas, for about an hour (yes I am one of THOSE clients - indecisive !) and ordered the exact same unit as on the shop floor. She has even done a little drawing on our paperwork of a left hand unit.
However it's turned up today and it's a right hand unit, which just wouldn't fit in our room. No problem, the delivery guys rang the store and organised for our salesperson to ring us back tomorrow, loaded it back on the van and took it away.
My question now is, can we cancel the order? We needed it for bonfire night which we now won't have and I have just seen another sofa on their website that would be a much better fit for us. Are they technically in breach of contract by delivering incorrectly? Can we use this as a reason to cancel or amend the order?
