When my daughter was little i had a drink problem resulting in school contacting ss, the case was closed straight away and I cleaned up my act have no problems like this since but I'm wondering if when we move will the new school be told that 3 years ago we had this incident and will all the new teachers have the same dim view of me? how long is this likely to continue for?

It will stay on your SS record for life, but the school won't be told unless it's a current concern. Chill.

there are different timescales for how long things stay on file with social services depending on the concerns (cp etc).
its more whether the school will pass the inof on for example if theyve done a caf etc
