Non completion for house move

In August we were due to move house. On completion day, our there was a problem with our purchasers mortgage and the move didn't complete. The mess was sorted out, and we finally moved a week later. We are now trying to get compensation off our purchasers. However, they are not responding to our solicitors letters. Its been six weeks now, and they keep saying they will respond next week. Have we any options? Any advice appreciated.

It's not unusual for these things to take time. However I would ask your solicitor to send them one final demand for compensation and then ask him to start court proceedings. What is the value of compensation you are seeking?

It is in the low thousands. Extra cost of removals, plus the interest we were charged for mortgage. However our solicitor seems to be relunctant to pass the matter over to a civil case.
