Someone has opened an account in my deceased father's name. Fortunately I became aware of this before any money spent and account hads been closed.
If this happens again and we are not so lucky could his estate be liable?

Don't understand. Why would you put any money into that account?

You can't be liable for any debt run up by someone else, even if they are impersonating you.

It was a catalogue credit account. Fortunately no orders had been placed and therefore no debt.
