Not sure where i stand legally

I had a call from social services saying that they think it would be best if my daughter only has supervised access to her father. But we have a court agreement stating he can have her at weekends. He is now threating to take me back to court. I'm not sure where i stand legally as now i have to break the agreement.

can the social services not help you out with this advice as surely they must have had to advise people on this kind of thing before.?
yes you may have to break agreement but surely the courts would understand that you have been advised by ss.

Presumably SS said why? Surely they must have given good reason and if they/you feel your DD is at risk this must be taken seriously.

As babybarrister says, have a look at the Resolution website and find yourself a specialist family lawyer asap

Ask SS to put it in writing and take a copy to the court.
I imagine the court will provide you with some sort of amended court order.

failing that, if your child is at risk, then you could try and get an ex parte hearing. I can not imagine any judge over ruling the advise of SS with regards to child protection.

No judge would enforce contact whilst SS have concerns. Speak to SS about supervision. Will they supervise? Do they want to approve any supervisor? You need to know their concerns before you can assess who might be suitable to supervise.
The judge will most likely order a report from SS so you'd need to find out from the SW how long they'll need for that.
