just been invoiced dated 16 months ago!

..... for replacement dining room switch in our rented property. It's dated march 2009!

We deal with a letting agent who have forwarded an small invoice on from a contractor they use for small work. (Generally they deal directly with the tenants and deduct work from the rent payable to us.) Due to the electricians computer error the invoice was never sent out and they are now asking for payment.

I'm not quibbling the fact this work was done but to bill for it 16 months on because of an error on the contractors part seems a bit off. Are there any rules on how long you can invoice people for work done?

Well the letting agent do all the organization, we just give approval for work to go ahead.

Dh is furiously doublechecking that we haven't already been invoiced for this work.

6 years is the time frame for recovery of debt. So yes, legal, sorry.

That's ok, worth asking the question I guess. I don't think we will be using them again
