Divorce confusion

I hope someone in the know can advise me! I have recently received the first set of divorce papers from my ex. How long do I have to sign them and return them? He is saying that the court need them back straightaway but I feel its only right that I have more time to look through them.

i think its 10 days or something similar from what i have read

As respondent you have eight days to return the acknowledgement
of service. The eight days start on the day after you received the petition.
