Benefits and blackmail

Don't know if anyone can help.

My friend is completing the census form and has asked her ex who recently moved in with his gf for their full postcode, as she has to declare the place the two boys spend many evenings at other than her address.

He has told her to use his mum's address as he is registered there so as not to affect his gf's benefits (she has 3 children). And if she tells anyone he will stop her child maintenance as he pays her a good amount of £450, far more than the minimum specified of 20% of his wages and he has them 3 times a week..

To me this is not just fraud but blackmail too.

Anyone know a way round it, she doesn't want to lose her child maintenance but does not want to be fraudulent either??

He's such a horrible man, how can he get away with it???

the census is confidential info...he wont know which address she has used and neither will benefits agency

it should be easy enough to find postcode online.

The Post Office postcode finder is here. She should give the correct information. As ILoveTIFFANY says, the census is confidential.

If it were me I would also report the girlfriend for benefit fraud. As things stand she is stealing from the taxpayer. She and your friend's ex will not know who has reported them.

Thanks all, The issue was not the postcode, she did find that with no problem and put the correct info on the census.

But if anyone reports them now he will remove her maintenance payments...

she should just go to csa then and accept less money....at least she can hold her head high and get on with her life!!
