Violent ex hacked email and facebook

Am posting this for advice following the brief details my friend just gave me. Her ex (the father of her child) has violently attacked her in the past and hospitalised her. In the last few days he has hacked hers and her dads email accounts plus my friends fb. He has obtained details of her forthcoming wedding which she now has to change.

The Police need to know about this dont they? It will help build up a picture of him if ever one is needed IMO.

how does she know its him for sure?

SpringchickenGoldBrass · 11/03/2011 17:03

Yes, tell her to contact her local DV unit immediately - they might even be able to arrest him or at least have a firm word with him.
Does she have any court orders against him eg non-molestation? If so, hacking her email is a breach of the order and he probably can be arrested.

I believe that she had a conversation aout it with him Tiffany.

The little bugger! Sorry OP. I must start remembering to shut down MN before letting DS at the laptop.

Very funny springchicken. You sure you're not a closet train spotter?

OP - tell facebook and the email host. They will have logged the IP address and can give that to the police. This will help provide the proof against him.

cestlavielife · 13/03/2011 00:25

he may be bluffing - could have got wedding details from it being posted at the registry office etc...or some mutual friend/person they both know.

but yes she can tell facebook and email host

wondering what kind of conversations she has with him?
are they recorded ie by text or email?
if verbally why is she in contact?

ps trains are indeed brilliant...
