Does the non resident parent have to pay CM via the CSA from the date they left the family home or from the time the CSA are contacted by either party. ?

Ooh I don't know. Just keeping this bumped for you...

I have emailed the CSA with this yesterday. This is my second question to them and they answered the first immediately so hope for a reply tomorrow! Thanks Driz

Child maintenance through the CSA starts running from the time the absent parent is contacted by the CSA and informed that the parent with care has applied to them.

In this case the absent parent wants to contact the CSA to start payments because the parent with current residency will not accept a private agreement and has not so far contacted CSA herself. I suppose its the same as you've said even if its the 'wrong' way round!?

Not often you get Dads insisting she has the flaming money!!

It's from the date that either parent contacts the CSA I think, I don't think it matters which parent contacts them though. HTH

Nice to hear of a NRP that wants to help support their child though Smile

prh47bridge is right, its frm when the csa contact the non resident parent normally. assume in this case though they can work out the payments straight away
