Hi, am getting divorced, long story wont go into it now.... We are in the middle of trying to agree a financial settlement, and my solicitor advised at this time I should serve a severance of joint tenancy (so in case of death my interest in the house would go to my children and not to him)He has gone ballistic but I'm not sure why - I thought this was reasonably standard and non contentious?

It is. Tell him to speak to his solicitor, who'll tell him to pull himself together.

Thanks, I thought it wasn't an issue but it wasn't mentioned in his solicitors letter back to mine - he just texted me about it later. We are trying to reach a financial settlement and he has also stipulated that he will retain a charge over the property (I am trying to buy him out) to reach the figure he wants in lieu of maintenance for 3 years, but ONLY if I don't get a CSA assessment. I don't intend to accept this solution but why the insistence about the CSA? He has also put conditions on this arrangement that it ceases if I cohabit for more than 6 months.....
