redundancy Qs

Does the time you were not working due to maternity leave still count to the years you have been working to calculate redundancy? Eg work 2 years, 9 months maternity, back at work for 4 months then made redundant, are you still entitled to 3 yrs redundancy?

Also, will a redundancy payment affect child benefit money? Will it need to be declared as income?

Thankyou

Maternity is irrelevant when calculating redundancy. So if you ere there five years that's the length of employment. Payment does not affect child benefit. Not sure about other benefits though.

The time you were on maternity all counts.
