Can DH's ex make future claims on his finances?

My DH's ex-wife has re-married, however she and her husband are separating and we would like to know should they divorce, could she come back to my DH and make any further claim on any of his income/assests/capital etc? My DH doesn't think he had a 'clean break' in his divorce.

Did he divorce her? If so, she can't bring a claim. If not, she's highly unlikely to get anything. In fact if she ever does I'll eat my underpants.

Yes he divorced her(infidelity on her part). Phew! Let's hope you don't have to eat your underpants. Wink

My underpants are safe. After remarriage the respondent to a divorce petition cannot apply for financial relief.

Just to clarify, the application must be issued before remarriage, but the order may be made after remarriage. The petitioner is deemed to have applied for ancillary relief in the prayer to the divorce petition.

That's fine then - everything was dealt with at the time, so it should be a closed case. Thanks for your help!
