DD passport renewal

DD1 is being taken on holiday this year so I'm having to renew her expired passport. The form states that it requires her father's details, ie DOB, town of birth, passport number! I haven't got a clue about these things any more, he hasn't wanted to see her since she was a babe in arms nine years ago and pays through the CSA. I don't even know where he lives.
He is her registered father but because she was born before 2003 he does not have PR.
What on earth am I supposed to do? If they are only renewing, why do they want this information they didn't before? I have no way of finding them out.

Do it online. You don't need to give all the details again, just input her expired passport number.

The online form says the same thing; input all parents details, even for child renewal. I left the fathers bit blank and submitted it anyway, they can call me.

Phone them - I seem remember that they were open until late at night and were incredibly helpful when dog ate DH passport

Oh god, I am glad I looked at this as I am exactly the same situation as you nanny just about to do the renew for dd, but haven't looked at the forms yet. This must be a new thing as I don't remember her being there 5 yrs ago when she first got one...? She was born 1999 so no automatic PR there either (thank god)
Hope you get some answers soon, I will check back Smile

I ticked the renewal box and only had to put in passport number for DS1, rather than put in all parents' details. This was only last month.

If you have any problems, ring the helpline as they are pretty good. I had an incredibly complex application as both DS's were on a residence order with complex parental issues.

I had one application returned for a minor issue and it was all sorted in around two weeks. I rang them again as they needed my birth certificate and I only had a certified copy as I was adopted and they agreed to accept this.
