BF ordered an item online and when it arrived turned out to be fake. Investigated the site and it was a false link - re-directed to another site. The item comes from China and was bought on a credit card - can we do anything? Thank you!!

Cancel your credit card.

If the goods cost between £100 and £30,000 the credit card company is jointly liable with the retailer so your friend should be able to get the money back from them.

Make a claim to your credit card company under S75 of the Consumer Credit Act. You will have to prove that you have contacted the retailer to try to get a refund (do this first) but your credit card company is jointly liable with supplier if the goods are not what they were advertised as.

Was it Ugg Boots - notorious fakes from China! I think its down the credit card route as the fakers wont refund you.

I was going to ask the same sneeze as I got stung like that before Christmas - hence I know about S75!
