Recommendation for conveyancing in Reading - and does it really take this long?

Hello - can anyone recommend a conveyancing solicitor in Reading please?

Also - we're being told 8-12 weeks to complete the buying process, is this what it normally turns out to be? Sure there's no normal but this is our first time buying in this country!

better to use a local solicitor who may have some idea of specific issues in the area. blandy & blandy, boyes turner and ratcliffe duce & grammar are all good firms that do conveyancing in reading.
8 - 12 weeks is a little on the high side. If there are no major issues then you should be able to do it in 8 weeks easily. subject of course to the other side proceeding properly (no chain issues etc etc).

Whatever you do, avoid EJ Winter if you want to complete in that timeframe. We used them once years ago and they were excellent so chose them again when we moved in August. To say that standards had slipped would be an understatement. We had to chase every single little thing, had to email and phone several times on every issue and are still waiting for some final documents and a copy of the deeds to be sent, five months on. And breathe....
