yesterday i parked in a hurry and didnt realise i was parking in a permit only strip of road. this happened for two reasons. one the snow as so bad on the road its covered the whole road and the white bay was not clear. second the pole with the sign was sprayed over with red/pink paint and only just readable if you jumped up and down next to the pole. i didnt see the sign as it was snowing and it didnt stand out due to being painted over. i phoned the council to complain and the man admitted to knowing the small sign was sprayed over but as far as they were concerned it was still readable. can anyone tell me where i stand and does anyone know of a clause i can submit in my letter. needless to say the man i spoke to today was not helpful and said i was waisting my time disbuting it.
sorry this is so long.

I would probably dispute this one. Take a photograph of the sign (do this quick before it is renewed) and write explaining that the sign is not readable. The person you spoke to on the phone will probably not be the one who makes the decision.

At least if you send a letter in it will give you a few more weeks before you have to pay, if nothing else. If you get the letter in before the 14 day cut off, then you would still only need to pay the reduced price even if you get nowhere with the dispute.
