Help!! Advice needed on scammy neighbour causing rats in our garden!!!!

Hi there

We are about to move into a lovely old house - its great and we are really excited about it. On the down side we have a very odd hermit neighbour that needs to go on one of those telly programmes for scammy vileness!

This in itself doesn't worry me but its the fact that his garden looks like a dump and attracts rats which will of course be in our garden too....please can anyone give us some advice on what we can do?

Health and Safety? What about those rat/mouse things that you plug in and omit a noise to avert them? do they work?

HELP!!! I hate them already!!!

er no - but the people living there before us have frequently..

You could ask the Environmental Health department of the council to inspect the back garden. There is some Act, named something like "Control of Pests Act"

Getting the council on it is a good idea. Please don't use one of those rat repellent noise things though, they bother all sorts of creatures not just rats and mice - hedgehogs, voles, the pet bunny that lives in a hutch in a nearby garden...

Think very carefully about moving next door to a place like this the rats may be the thin edge of the wedge, do you really want to look outside of your dream house and see a rubbish dump garden? Neighbour ma have some other bad habbits.
