Completing the 26 weeks for maternity entitlement.

Hi, I won't be able to complete the 26 weeks necessary for maternity entitlement, and not sure how it works when working for a supply teaching agency (if they would pay me something...).
The midwife yesterday suggested if I could pay the remaining weeks of national insurance stamps, which is what counts towards the maternity pay, does anybody have any idea if this is possible?
Thanks.

I can see I'm bit late with the response but anyway... Voluntary national insurance contributions don't count towards the eligibility for pension and benefits. That's what it says on the HMRC website. Try googling it.
