DH works with a woman who is 13 weeks pregnant. She was a student and started working there whilst finishing her degree.

When she finished, the complany kept her on, telling her they were making her contract permanent. This was January they were suppose to do this.

She told employers about a month ago that she was pregnant. Now it has come out that they forgot to make her contract permanent and it expires in October. Now they are not planning on making it permanent, which seems to me they have decided this after she has told them she is pregnant.

Does anyone have any advice? She doesn't know what to do as her DH was recently made redundant from a very well paid job and they have just had to move back with her mum as they cannot afford to live on their own now.

I would suggest taking her case to her local Citizen's Advice Bureau where she can receive free legal advice to see if she has a viable legal case. I have been in a similar situation and found CAB invaluable. I hope this helps
