3 children and work

I've been reading through all the threads about families with 3 children over the past few days. DH and I have decided that we would like to try for DC3 but I have a little business, which I would like to keep going. DH does the proper 'bring home the bacon' job - mine is more for my sanity and self-worth although it does pay a small amount each month.

I work from home so that's a plus and I wouldn't work if I had to be out of the home. I could schedule (ha ha, attempt to schedule) things so that I've got minimal work going on while pregnant and none at all while baby is a newborn. DH can help out with a minimal amount of work too as he gets home early in the afternoon.

So what do you think? Any experiences to share!

Meant to add that DS is nearly 7 and DD 3 1/2. DD is starting reception in September so would be home alone with the baby from then.

I've worked with 3,4 and 5 children! I think it is doable especially if you work from home. Its more difficult juggling children when they're all at school and you have different school things to fit in with work ime, but if you work for yourself it is easier.

I have had an au pair for a few years now and find the flexibility of this the best (my youngest dc goes to nursery while I'm at work).

Thanks Pollyanna - in fact reading through my post, I would say to someone else that it all sounds very do-able with a proper plan in place.

I have someone come in once a week to help with the housework. She only does a few hours but could easily add some more.

yes, I also have a cleaner, and a dh who more than pulls his weight (he is around to help with breakfast, but not usually tea/bath/bed).
