Thrilling question about Van Insurance

Hello - it occurs to me getting a six seater (crew cab) van would be perfect for kids, dogs, camping etc. We currently have a Berlingo so i don't mind driving bigger things - i'm thinking Vauxhall Vivaro or Ford Transit.

One question though - does anyone know if the insurance is really expensive for a large van as opposed to a large car or MPV? It would only be for private use so i'm not talking business insurance just straightforward stuff.

I've tried to look online but any comparisons seem to include business insurance.

TIA

+60 quid, says DH -- we changed from 5-seater estate to 7 seater Kia Sedona 2 months ago.

Friend says that it costs an extra 800 quid/yr to go from 8 to 9 seats... I think that might be one to think over carefully...

I have just got a 9 seater Fiat Scudo. £50 more than Renault Grand Scenic.
