Ive just seen that phrase on the tax-credits thread, and quite frankly im disgusted at the idea that some people think that why we have larger families.
Again its the old game of slag off the bigger families - we must be in it for the money, or we must be off our heads , or you must be accident prone ?or the "classics" why dont we buy a telly ?or has anyone told you about condoms yet?.
Why do the "little families" have it in for us ?
No one has kids for the benefits that i know of , regardless of whether they have 1 child or 6.W .Its a stupid ignorant thing to say.

yes! obviously it's not always the case but it's naive to think people don't

itsmeolord · 19/01/2010 16:34

That wasn't what was actually said though was it.

You are being a bit daft to get het up over something that wasn't said.

compo · 19/01/2010 16:36

yes some people do have more childen so they can get a larger council house, or a council house

and yes some people have more children than they can afford

drloves8 · 19/01/2010 16:40

perhaps south .
itsmeolord the "breeding for benefits" was said , but in a slightly different context.
Just got to me i suppose, there are people out there who do think such a thing.... ive had similar things said to me in the past unjustly .

Where are these council houses? - most of the larger one have been sold off in the right to buy.
council houses also have rents on them too, theyre not free housing.

what compo said

compo · 19/01/2010 16:47

wel if you were living in a box room with a baby at your parents house

you might think if you had another child you would get a 2 bedroomed council house

for example

read the DM, it will keep you up to speed

drloves8 · 19/01/2010 16:51

read the DM?
am i allowed too? thought that was a big no-no.
