Just bought an (older) VW Caravelle, and although have driven it no probs starting to panic about going to hosp, as you can never get a space and even with the focus I could hardly get out the door! Wondering if we were mad...but will be great for camping???

Why don't you park really close to the edge of the space one side so you have more space the other side to get out.
I must admit that I definately see the advantage of sliding doors when it comes to getting kids in and out.

Thought of that but what happens if I have 2 drivers doors next 2 my space?. Managed to park in ASDAs tiny spaces yesterday so hopefully...i'll manage, I suppose there is a few spaces at the end of the car park where it curves that I could wait an hour for...hoping labour isn't imminent and hoping Ive got plenty of cash on me..

You'll get the hang of it, we've got VW transporter long wheel base...huge... I love it, but spent lots of time learning how to manouver it with a couple of hiccups along the way! I feel so safe in it and would never go back to a smaller vehicle even when the dc's are big!!!

You don't know by any chance where I could get the middle lapbelts changed to lap & diagonals? Anywhere in the West midlands

No, we're in the highlands, mine came already changed, maybe phone your nearest VW garage for ideas....
