Does anyone else run out of birthday present ideas for subsequent children?

We have 4 dd's and dd3 will be 2 next sunday but we have no idea what to buy her for a present, we already have trikes, bikes, prams, pushchairs dollies etc etc that are dd1 and dd2's.

Does anyone else have the same problem?

yep.

We have everything, or have had everything, big stuff, (kitchen) has ended up being garden toys.

I'm really struggling for christmas tbh, am scouring carboots on a weekly basis.

ds, (12 next month) has asked for all 3 chelsea kits so that's what he'll get.

castille · 13/09/2009 14:23

We do, and we've only got 3 DC. 3yo DS has all the toys he could possibly need for the next 5 years at least.

That said, as some of the toys are getting quite eldery they do sometimes break, providing a good present opportunity. So he got a brand new shiny red boy's scooter for his birthday because 11yo DD1 broke the original (slightly girly) one showing DS how to use it

god yes, i only have 3 but am at a complete loss what on earth ds2 will get for presents as the older two have everything!

belgo · 13/09/2009 14:29

Don't run out of ideas. Just run out of money. And space.

juuule · 13/09/2009 15:34

Like Belgo, we just run out of money and space.

Ceolas · 13/09/2009 15:46

Space definitely. I am trying to ask people to get small things for our DCs. We have a large extended family and end up with tons of stuff at Christmas/birthdays.

4andnotout · 13/09/2009 16:32

I think we have settled on play food and cooking equipment for the kitchen she got last year and a huge plastic trunk to keep it all in, does this seem like a decent pressie for a 2 year old?

Sounds like she will love it

sweetkitty · 13/09/2009 22:30

Animals you can never have too many animals according to DD2, ELC do these little metal cases of animals and you can add more to it.

4andnotout · 13/09/2009 22:36

Ooh she does love animals and dinosaurs too...

sweetkitty · 13/09/2009 22:39

ELC do dinosaurs too

My DD1 is the dolly/pram/barbie girl
DD2 dinosaurs/animals/trains/cars

Don't know about DD3 although she does like driving her cars about the floor, I am struggling about what to get her for Christmas as well.

CarGirl · 13/09/2009 22:39

I'm working on the "trips" out with friends and relatives rather than clutter gifts for them.

4andnotout · 13/09/2009 22:42

Well this is my busy season, dd3 is 2 on sunday, then dd4 will be 1 next month (what on earth do i buy a one year old ) then dd1 will be 8 in november, couple that with christmas and i'm going to be all presented out
