Anyine with 5 or more, advice please?!

Ok so just wondering exactly how much harder it is than 4?!

Just found out number 5 is on way, totally unplanned and quite a shock really. Now in total panic about how I/we will manage

My house is madness as it is so surely it can't be that much worse?

seriously tho, once you hit four, you are so insane anyway one, two, three, hell, fifteen more would not make much difference IMVHO.

congratulations, it will be fun, hard yes, but fun

My fifth was unplanned. It took a lot of getting used to in the pregnancy - I basically withdrew from all my social groups because I didn't want to talk about it. I was also ultra tired, so not in the mood for much more than just surviving.

Once DD was born, I was back to my old self and very proud to show her off as much as possible.

On a practical level, going to four is the big step because could do with a much bigger car. This is already there for no. 5. You also have a good idea of what stuff you need - and like me, you buy next to nothing, even if you gave all your baby stuff away.

I didn't find too many problems with household routines (it was chaos before, and chaos after). My eldest was 10 when DD was born, so he was capable of doing a lot to help me.

We were lucky that we had 2 boys then 3 girls so we didn't have any awkward bedroom sharing dilemmas.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Once your LO is born, you will not be able to imagine life without him/her.

science - I feel like that at the moment. Not telling anybody for a long time yet and hiding from people just so I don't have to actually admit it in RL just yet. Think it will take the whole preg and beyond for me to actually believe this is happening

I have 2 that are very young already so the buying things shouldn't matter but space is a bit of a problem. I am working on it though.

Your household routine (or lack there of ) sounds very much like mine so am glad I am not alone there and I can't see it getting that much worse once 5 appears??

Now just have to cope with the actual being pregnant bit......lol!

Congrats, easyeggs! We are expecting number 5 in August. We too are in madness but we'll just have to hope we have an eay 5th like nao

I dreamt that DH told me I was expecting #5 last night and we were just so excited.

Then I woke up and he's still saying No

I'm sure you'll have loads of fun with your brood.

many congrats! I am hanging on for no 7. You just get on with it, but it is harder work with each new on that comes. Don't believe it when people say one more doesn't make a difference after a certain number. IME it does make a difference, it makes it harder. But I want more so it can't be that bad

Actually it's true that it does really depend on your baby. Like nao my number 5 was a doddle my no 6 was well, unspeakably awful. He's lovely now at nearly 2

NAO I hope #5 is like yours! #3 was a dream but #4 was a total PITA from the instant he was born, only just settling down now which is which I'm so worried There is only going to be small age gaps too. Already have ds 7, ds 5, dd 20m and ds 5.5m

NINS Congrats on #5, glad it isn't just me who is insane Seeing as you are due before me you can tell me how bad it really is before I pop As for the car that's another worry here too. We already have a 7 seater but the 7th seat isn't really a proper one and the back has no isofix fittings and we have already got carseats for others all worked out perfectly. No idea what to do yet. Let me know if you find anything!

MMB I'm sorry your dp is saying no and there's me worrying about having another Accidents can happen though Is there any reason in particular he won't agree?

kitty #7 !!!! Wow I admire you and your patience My last has been the hardest work yet so I agree that everyone of them does make it harder but fingers crossed for an easy baby to make things that little bit easier. I can dream......

Hi EasyEggs,

I think it's lots of things. We have four healthy DC's and he feels we'd be pushing our luck to have another. Our youngest is 7 so he's reluctant to go back to nappies etc. Finances - the blasted credit crunch means we have less income than a year ago. We'd need a bigger car, etc. Also, we have two teens, and they are quite good at reminding him that babies grow up

I do understand his reasons but I would still like another baby. Never mind. I shall count my blessings.

When you have 4 already then another 1 isn't going to be a total shock, you will be fine!! ..

of course it could be twins so it maybe 5 and 6!!!!

but that would be fine too...trust me, been there done that...

I reckon the first year is hard work generally. My youngest (of 4, expecting number 5) is 18 months at the moment and life is no more hectic than the same stage with 3 children iyswim?

Hoping the same proves to be true with 5!

NAO I still want another BUT dc6 starts pre school in May and I've a feeling that no 7 won't be so very appealing once I have a few free mornings, the first ones in over 10 YEARS[SHOCK]

Four was a lifetime away.Five was the start of the slippery slope to chaos.That's not a bad thing.We now have 6,two months time it'll be 7 under 10.We live in chaos.I don't get half the things done I want to,but they're all clean,fed,happy and well taken care of.It's just a different way of life.Can't believe I used to have kids bathed and in bed,with an immaculate house 5 years ago.
